What is the best way to navigate frame to frame in onse slide? Is it better just to have each picture in a sequence on a different slide rather than a series of frames?

If you do use individual slides there is a small load time penalty on each slide.
This is often much lower on frames.
If it is a series of images & text in similar positions I'll use either.
If there is a question involved then I'll usually put that in its own frame.

A slide with frames or slides, both work, I'd sugget using what you are most comfortable with.
