I started creating a course. Everything goes well until I save an close the window. When I reopen the course, I get the following error,

The module could not be opened. Line :3, POS: 170 A semicolon character was expected.

I even uninstalled the software, downloaded a fresh copy and reinstalled, still I am getting the same message. I even tried creating a blank course, still the same problem.

Please help.

it seems that you have inserted some forbidden character in module name. To fix it, open file 1/1.xml (it is design-time data storage) with Notepad or any other plain text editor and inspect Line 3, position 170 (or before 170) - there could be some strange symbol. Just delete it.
