I have a question (1/23+1/23) that expects a fraction (something like 2/23 as answer. The numeric question types does not allow the "/" symbol? what alternatives are available?

As you aren't actually calculating anything and are only matching the input to an answer so you can use the text question.
This will just compare the response to the text you have said is correct as a string of characters.
You'll find that 2/23 is OK as an answer and as a user input.

Going on a stage more complex if you had any questions using more complex maths symbols then you'd need to capture them as a graphic.
