Watch out if you upgrade to Windows 10 as the HASP (controls the licence) seems to fall over and 2.7 will not load as the licence key is been 'lost' in the upgrade process. Trying to reload a saved or detached hr2 licence file fails too.
This seems to be a problem with the hasp server software version.
It's the only software fail I've had with the upgrade from 7 to 10 which is a shame and very painful as I'm in the middle of a project and don't have the time to debug this at the moment.Luckily I have all the associated materials so I can do a quick rebuild on Xerte but it won't be quite as good as on Courselab.
*Update*
Initial research tells me that:
The hasp version that installs (or I have from my original installation) is for 32bit systems and for earlier OS versions.
I first need to uninstall the old version, supposedly in programs/common which it isn't. It looks like I will have to use a command line tool for this once I know where the installed hasp files are.
Then install a version better than 12.4 and it all should work again.
"IMPORTANT*
If you are using windows 7 or 8 especially 64bit versions don't update to 10 at the moment if Courselab is important to you.
Ensure that you have a copy of the hasp key, either use the hasp interface to make a copy which you can find by typing http://localhost:1947/_int_/devices.html in your browser. Use the detach functions to make a copy, save it then reattach to restore function.
