There are a couple of reasons for this but they mostly hinge around the way that the web browser interprets the text it displays which is linked to the default language.
You should find that only the text is changed and it is more likely to happen in versions 7, 8 9 as microsofts interpretation of the WC3 html standards varies considerably between these versions.
The best that you can do to reduce this is to use only fonts that are available on standard PCs.

You'd best use the plain vanilla fonts, e.g. Arial, Times New Roman etc; fonts which are present on all computers.

Just google for 'common fonts' to find lists.
