Does anyone know if there are objects in the courselab - tool, where I need no ActiveX.

Do you mean if there are objects in Courselab you can use without installing active x controls on the students computer?

It is a pain that anything related to activex is used at all... by anything!!
Java would be a better option as it is not platform dependant, activex is MS OS and explorer only.
To see which components use this make some test pages and run them on firefox or safari. Note what works and what doesn't, you can then plan around the failings. This will mean you reworking some of the components manually.
