Hi all

Im fustrated. I have been trying to link a document with a word. When a person clicks on a word inside courselab a word document should be able to load up. Can someone help me identify the code or procedure please??![:(]

The beers on me!

Hi Roger
First open up the object librarys EXTERNAL tab.
Drop an EXTERNAL FILE object onto the page.
Right click on the object and select properties.
Browse to the file you want to use.
Save

Now the word document will have been copied into the course folder. Clicking it will open the document.
Make sure that you use a compatible file version, for example don't use the native 2007 format as earlier versions of word won't be able to open it. An old one like 98 is probably better.
If in doubt use a PDF as they are a little more universal.
Send the beer to ..... LOL

Hi Nick

You do realise you are a legend []

I thought I was going mad as I had seen that feature somewhere before!

I have gathered that you have generated some modules yourself? Perhaps we can share our resources on courselab? I have generated all sorts on courselab.

LOL Roger, I wish!!
You can either post them here OR if you have somehing that demonstrates a 'how to' (simply and with instructions on the pages) I can put it on http://www.friendsofcourselab.info

I really ought to get some more stuff on there but I've been really tied up with a big hospital project that has been eating all of my time.
