publish scorm course in sharepoint
  View type:
I just can't find a way to publish an online course in sharepoint. It must appears in the page for the users, but all i can do is post it as a zip file for download.
I created the course, used the toll 'publish course' in courselab, what results in a zip file with scorm content. Then I uploaded it and assigned it for someone.
I think I followed all the steps, but when the content is request, it asks if I want to save the file, when it should appears without have to download it.

After, I tried to export the course to Class Server, as a zip file. But an error message appears, saying that the IMS manifest couldn't be open.

Someone have any idea about what's happening?

I was searching the net for a solution the problem with scorm courses in sharepoint / SLK and found your thread at this site. I'm wondering if you ever got that problem solved and how. Since the beginning we had sharepoint and SLK already installed and it used to work fine but then something happened, then, instead of the courses opening up normally we got the 'download the zip file' window. Once I fixed it updating the .Net framework, but recently it happened again.

Don't know if this helps but I had a scorm course with a space in the course or module identifier. It worked in other lms but not sharepoint. When I removed the space in the identifier it also worked in sharepoint.

What do you put in for the course or module identifier, as I keep getting it causing a Problem Validating Manifest due to NCName issue?

I would really appreciate some help.

Cheers

.NET supplies a lot of the background functionality so it's quite possible that an update has changed something.
It would be worth having a look at the logs to see if an update did occur and if the date tallies with the failure. You'd need to look both at Sharepoint, SLK and .NET on the networked PC's. It is most likely to be on the PC's themselves, it looks like it might be the side effect from a security type patch.
Locally we opted for a discrete LMS partly because there seemed to be too many issues associated with SLK to make it a viable solution

On its own sharepoint won't know what to do with a SCORM packaged module. It is though OK with a standalone CD type module.

To make the SCORM package work Micro$ofts SLK (Sharepoint Learning Kit) http://www.codeplex.com/SLK to be installed.

Thank you for the quick reply, Nickj.

Well, I've got SLK installed already. Even using E-Learning actions, it doesn't work...

Search this forum, there are a few people using SLK who might be able to help.
I'd also have a look at the SLK user fora. This is probably an SLK issue rather than Courselab issue.
Hope this helps a little
